Only 13% of existing northbound and 43% of existing southbound capacity is needed to meet current demand during commuting hours.

Chain link fences, concrete barriers, and large open channels currently separate us from neighboring communities.

BTD Goals for the project include:

- "Right-size" the road to create neighorhood-oriented character
- Improve pedestrian connections/safety to MBTA stations and community
- Decrease traffic congestion
- Protect Main Street from cut-through traffic
- Create public/open space
- Provide opportunities for appropriate development
- Provide bicycle connections
- Increase on-street parking
